First "CryoPlasty" Procedures in
Idaho performed by Medical Imaging Associates Radiologists,
Fritz Schmutz M.D. and John Strobel M.D. at EIRMC.
This procedure uses cold therapy to dialate
peripheral vascular lesions as an alternative to traditional
Percutaneous Angioplasty.
Using the Boston Scientific PolarCath
Peripheral Dilatation System early results indicate improved outcomes in
certain difficult and complex cases. |

Uterine Fibroid Embolization performed at EIRMC by Dr. Doug Greally.
Known
medically as uterine artery embolization, this is a fundamentally new
approach to the treatment of fibroids that blocks the arteries that
supply blood to the fibroids. It is a minimally invasive procedure,
which means it requires only a tiny nick in the skin, and is performed
while the patient is conscious but sedated drowsy and feeling no pain.
Fibroid embolization is usually done in a hospital by an interventional
radiologist, a physician who is specially trained to perform this and
other minimally invasive procedures. For more information, call us at (208) 542-5000
